Acron to Support Professionalitet Programme in Novgorod Region

Veliky Novgorod-based Acron will provide RUB 15 million to the Novgorod Chemical and Industrial College (NovHIT) as part of the federal Professionalitet programme,

Andrey Nikitin, Governor of Novgorod region, and Vladimir Kantor, Vice President of Acron, who was on a regular working visit to the regional centre, discussed the training of personnel for production facilities and cooperation between the region and business in the implementation of social projects.

In July 2023, NovHIT passed a competitive selection for the federal Professionalitet project to receive funding for major repairs and modern classroom equipment. In cooperation with Acron, NovHIT will create the Seventh Element education and production cluster to train specialists in the most in-demand specialities in the chemical industry.

‘Acron’s progress is evidenced by new projects, employee feedback and joint social programmes implemented in the Novgorod region. The Company’s growth has a direct impact on the development of the city and the region. This concerns taxes, social projects, and the material and technical base in the education sector’, the head of the region emphasised.

Acron has been cooperating with NovHIT for many years. In 2022, the Company invested RUB 12 million in its computerised training classrooms.

According to Vladimir Kantor, the partnership with the NovHIT brings new employees to Acron’s production facilities every year. The Company pays particular attention to large, complex projects and the development of its own raw material base, which require personnel with more advanced skills.

‘We are not only building new production facilities, but also modernising existing ones. Naturally, these projects require qualified staff, and we are glad to be part of such socially significant programmes that are also beneficial to Acron. We need people to carry out the complex investment programme, and by investing in the development of the industry-specific college, we are helping to provide students with high-quality education. Similarly, the Leading Engineering School (LES) has created an ecosystem where young people can gain skills in innovative technologies and undertake internships at Acron. We get trained personnel who know exactly where they are going to work’, Mr Kantor said.

Mr Nikitin and Mr Kantor met at the Leading Engineering School at Novgorod State University, and toured the modern LES laboratories.

Mr Kantor noted that Acron has been an industrial partner of LES since 2022 and has provided RUB 100 million for its development. Thanks to this, students will receive practical and professional training in production facilities, including work under mentorship.

In 2023, LES, together with its industrial partner Acron, has implemented a programme of advanced engineering training focused on individual educational pathways. Students are actively involved in the work of the LES laboratories, solving various engineering problems. The programme aims to address the human resource issues for high-tech industries in the region.
