900 Children to Visit Dorogobuzh Summer Camp

During four sessions from 5 June through 19 August, approximately 900 children from Smolensk region will attend the Lastochka summer camp owned by Dorogobuzh, an Acron Group company.

Children and grandchildren of employees of Dorogobuzh and its subsidiaries will receive preferential vouchers at RUB 4,000 for a two-week session or RUB 6,000 for a three-week session.

This summer, Lastochka will offer new programmes and recreational methods based on the best practices of all-Russian children’s centres and leading health resorts of Krasnodar krai, including psychological and pedagogical techniques for children adaptation and socialisation.

The first and second sessions dubbed CyberSummer will feature musical, dancing, environmental, and psychological activities to help children obtain useful knowledge and unlock their creative potential. It will offer hobby groups, game programmes, outdoor competitions, and sports tournaments.

The third session will bring together young athletes and members of military-patriotic clubs of Smolensk region. The summer season will close with the Leader themed session held by administration of Safonovsky district for young members of public associations, school organisations, young army and volunteer movements.

As part of collaboration with the Smolensk region’s social development department, Dorogobuzh allocated half of the summer camp vouchers to arrange summer recreation and wellness in Lastochka for children in difficult life circumstances and living in low-income and single-parent families.

The teaching staff of the Lastochka summer camp are educators with core education and counsellors, including regional school teachers, and students from physics, history, philology and natural history faculties of the Smolensk State University.

In advance of the summer season, Lastochka passed through a maintenance, including a facelift of the cafeteria, construction of new art class rooms and a badminton court. The lake was cleared of mud and a new fence was built around the bathing area.

Lastochka summer camp was built in 1966 and is located in a picturesque wood on the shore of Rubezhnoye Lake in Dorogobuzh district.
