Acron Group Employees Take Prizes at ChemFest Sports Festival

Acron Group employees (from Acron (Veliky Novgorod), Dorogobuzh and NWPC) first time participated in ChemFest, an annual sports festival celebrating Chemist Day. The festival was organised by Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Russian Chemists Union.

The Group’s employees placed in 800-m running and team competitions (darts, mas-wrestling, Silver Bullet basketball shooting through a basket, arm wrestling, rope skipping, tug of war, chemical quiz and chess tournament).
  • First prize – Elena Kozmidi, waste water treatment equipment operator at the biological treatment plant (Acron (Veliky Novgorod))
  • Second prize – Olga Pakhomova, automated control system engineer at the information technology centre (Acron (Veliky Novgorod))
  • Third prize – Irina Gusarova, inspector on the firefighting and gas rescue squad (Dorogobuzh).
Ilya Ershov, an analysis equipment operator on the mineral fertiliser production line at Acron (Veliky Novgorod) took third place in the men’s running competition.

In the team rating, Acron Group’s team ranked third.

The ChemFest sports festival was held on 2 June 2018 in the Yekaterininsky Park (Moscow). Over 750 employees of chemical production facilities and research institutes from around the country attended the event. Vladimir Potapkin, Director of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Timber Processing Complex of the Ministry of Industry and Trade; Victor Ivanov, President of the Russian Chemists Union; and Olympic medallist Svetlana Ishmouratova spoke at the festival opening.
