NWPC Builds Crushing and Conveyor Complex

In November 2018, North-Western Phosphorous Company launched construction of a new ore transport system at the Oleniy Ruchey mine. The greenfield crushing and conveyor complex will connect the underground mine with the beneficiation plant via an overland conveyor gallery.

Underground load-haul-dumpers will bring extracted ore to the chute, from which point it will be transported in trucks to the underground crushing chamber and then conveyed to the coarse ore hopper at the beneficiation plant. Phase I of the conveyor complex involves construction of three kilometres of galleries. With the commissioning date planned for Q4 2019, the Company has already begun installation of the conveyor supports.

Commissioning of the conveyor complex will bring the underground mine’s capacity up to 6 million tonnes of ore per year by 2024.
