Acron Wins High-Profile Environmental Award

Acron (Veliky Novgorod), a member of Acron Group, won the award for Ecology and Environmental Management as part of a contest called Russia’s Top 100 Organisations. Acron executive director Vladimir Gavrikov was awarded the badge of honour for 2019 Environmental Specialist of the Year.

The award ceremony was held in St. Petersburg as part of the XIV All-Russian Conference Ecology and Production. Prospects for the Development of Economic Mechanisms for Environmental Protection. This annual event is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, environmental committees of Federation Council and the State Duma, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
The environmental forum reviewed companies’ projects in the area of sustainable environmental management and protection. Veliky Novgorod-based Acron was awarded a medal and a diploma for Achievements in Production and Consumption Waste Management.

In 2018, the total waste generated by Acron facilities decreased 2.2% to 43,100 tonnes due to measures aimed at improving the sustainability of production flows and products and ensuring the uninterrupted operation of equipment and compliance with Russian sanitary and environmental laws.

Acron Group invests heavily in environmental projects each year. In 2018, Acron allocated RUB 377 million to environmental protection measures, up 47% year-on-year. Environmental efforts include protecting atmospheric air and water resources, as well as mitigating the impact of industrial waste by separating waste collection and further disposal.
