On 1 February, winners and runners-up of the third regional WorldSkills Russia were officially recognised in Veliky Novgorod. Students from vocational schools and colleges competed in 27 areas, including eight areas new for Novgorod region.
At the award ceremony for the industrial sector, governor of Novgorod Region Andrey Nikitin thanked Acron as one of the major partners.
“These competitors are the future of our country and the future of industry of Novgorod region. I am confident that each of them will find a good job making good money and stay right here in this country and this region”, Nikitin said.
“WorldSkills is a good way to keep young people in Veliky Novgorod, provide graduates with proper career guidance, and show them how important they are to the region. We see major companies working systematically with our local vocational institutions, and that helps us look to the future with confidence”, added Sergey Busurin, mayor of Veliky Novgorod.
For the second year in a row, Novgorod-based Acron held a contest for Chemical Technologies Operators at WorldSkills. The Company is interested in training highly qualified young professionals in this area to help them adapt quickly at work and grow professionally and personally. Today, the Company employs 879 Chemical Technologies Operators, who make up 19% of total employees.
Novgorod Chemical Industrial College (NovHIT), which is supported by Acron, hosted a Laboratory Chemical Analysis competition.
This year, Acron provided the NovHIT site with pilot equipment and consumables, including four training and laboratory sets: Heat Exchangers, the Absorption Process, the Rectification Process, and Automation of Chemical Production Processes. Acron specialists also helped design the competitive tasks and acted as judges of the contesters’ knowledge, skills and presentation abilities.
