Acron in Veliky Novgorod has purchased 53 hopper cars from Ruzkhimmash to transport mineral fertilisers. The new, improved models are designed for loading bulk cargo.
The new rolling stock offers improved technical and economic performance. Thanks to an innovative bogie with a 25-tonne axle load, the hopper's load capacity has increased to 77 tonnes, which makes it possible to transport more raw materials and finished products by rail while keeping transport costs the same.
Another advantage of mineral hoppers is that they require less maintenance. Compared to previous models, this is achieved through an extended run between overhauls of up to six years or 500,000 kilometres. The service life of such hopper car is at least 32 years.
Acron Group operates a fleet of over 2,000 own cars and 2,500 leased cars, covering the needs of the Group’s companies for rail transportation of raw materials and finished products to port terminals and consumers in Russia and CIS countries. In 2025, Acron Group transported 9.3 million tonnes of raw materials and finished products by rail.
