Dorogobuzh to allocate RUB 50 million to renovate a school in Dorogobuzh district in Smolensk region

PJSC Dorogobuzh, a member of Acron Group, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Smolensk regional government. The agreement aims to improve quality of life for residents of Dorogobuzh municipal district in Smolensk region. It stipulates that the company will finance the renovation of Dorogobuzh Secondary School No. 2 named after V.A. Shashin, a recipient of the Order of Courage.

Vladimir Kunitsky, the CEO of Dorogobuzh, and Vasily Anokhin, the Governor of Smolensk region, signed the agreement at a meeting attended by Vladimir Kantor, Acron’s Vice President, and Alexander Popov, Chairman of Acron’s Board of Directors.

According to the action plan, the total project funding in 2026 will reach RUB 100 million, with Dorogobuzh providing up to RUB 50 million. These funds will be used to construct a new sports complex with a stadium and sports grounds, renovate the school building’s façade and chemistry classroom, and install new fencing.

As part of the agreement, the parties will share information and develop measures to improve quality of life in the municipal district. They also plan to consult with each other and pool their experiences.

‘Thanks to our cooperation with Dorogobuzh, we have renovated several important facilities. This agreement marks another step in the systematic development of the district’s social infrastructure. I am confident that our ongoing dialogue with the company and regular information exchange will enable us to meet deadlines and ensure high-quality work at every stage’, said Vasily Anokhin.

Vladimir Kantor noted: ‘Acron Group, represented by Dorogobuzh, has already allocated approximately RUB 500 million in 2025 to upgrade social facilities in Dorogobuzh district. The new agreement on modernising the school is part of our ongoing large-scale social development programme, which is being implemented in collaboration with the regional authorities. Our shared objective is to foster a comfortable and appealing lifestyle in the district, particularly for younger generations’.

On behalf of the Smolensk regional government, Governor Vasily Anokhin awarded Vladimir Kantor a Certificate of Honour in recognition of his many years of dedicated work, professionalism and contribution to developing industry in Smolensk region.
