Acron explains the role of calcium nitrate in plant nutrition at the ‘Fruits and Berries of Russia 2025’ forum

In late October, Acron Group, one of the world’s top five calcium nitrate (CN) producers, participated in the ‘Fruits and Berries of Russia 2025’ forum in Sochi.

On the opening day of the forum, Natalya Seregina, Head of Domestic Market Sales Development at Acron, delivered a presentation entitled ‘Investing in Calcium.

The Role of Calcium Nitrate in Obtaining a Healthy and High-Quality Harvest’ during the ‘Practical Issues in Fruit Growing' session. She explained the importance of CN in enhancing harvest quality, focusing on the results of field trials featuring Acron’s CN-based CALINKA fertilisers. The CALINKA product line includes two grades: Grade A Premium for greenhouse and open-field fertigation, and Grade C with boron for open-field application.

For example, the use of CALINKA in apple orchards in Kursk region resulted in higher yields of Red Delicious apples and delivered additional profit for growers. In Astrakhan region, the CN application to Bulldog tomatoes helped increase yields, improve the fruit quality and boost dry matter content — a key factor for downstream processing.

‘Today, the fruit and berry market is becoming increasingly demanding in terms of product quality. Our solutions help farmers meet the highest standards. Our CALINKA is an investment in plant health and sustainable results’, noted Ms Seregina.

The forum brings together experts, producers and distributors of fruit and vegetable products. Participation in the forum provides an opportunity to learn about the latest agronomic innovations and effective technologies. For Acron, the forum serves as a platform for exchanging experience with farmers, discussing current challenges facing the industry and presenting solutions aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of domestic horticulture.
