In 2024, Acron Group, a Russian vertically integrated mineral fertiliser producer, invested RUB 3.9 billion in ESG projects that are strategically important for the regions where it operates. Acron’s spending on environmental protection, occupational health and safety, social benefits for employees, and social and economic development of its footprint regions was up 25% compared to 2023.
Acron Group makes significant contributions to the social and economic growth of the regions in which it has production assets. The Group is an attractive employer and a responsible taxpayer, actively involved in the regional economies, improving the quality of life of its employees, their families and local residents. Each year, Acron signs social partnership agreements with the regional authorities. The Group’s investment in social and economic development and charitable programmes increased by 10% to RUB 859 million in 2024.
Social support for employees is a core element of the Group’s sustainable development strategy. This includes investing in occupational health programmes, medical care, employee insurance, training and personal growth, promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle, engaging and retaining highly skilled personnel, cooperating with educational institutions and implementing targeted social programmes. In the reporting year, the Group expanded its investment in social support to employees by 21% to RUB 1.2 billion.
The Group is committed to protecting the environment, including air and water resources, and minimising the environmental impact of its production waste. Acron and Dorogobuzh implemented measures to ensure incident-free operation of biological treatment and hydraulic engineering facilities. They also monitored the quality of wastewater, treated wastewater and water bodies, and took steps to preserve and restore biodiversity in the footprint regions. The companies’ waste management programme is aimed at reducing waste generation using relevant technologies. In 2024, environmental expenditures increased by a factor of 2.5 to RUB 435 million.
Ensuring safe working conditions and minimising risks associated with the production process are among the Group’s priorities. In the reporting year, Acron allocated RUB 1.3 billion to occupational health and safety measures, up 20% year-on-year.
In 2024, Superjob.ru named Acron Group an ‘Attractive Employer’. The Group won several ESG awards and prizes, and was assigned high scores in major ESG rankings.
