Acron Group, a Russian vertically integrated producer of mineral fertilisers, makes significant annual investments in occupational health and safety, which totalled RUB 1.3 billion in 2024, up 20% year-on-year.
In the area of industrial safety, Acron Group’s priority is to ensure safe working conditions for employees in the regions where i it operates and minimise risks associated with the production process. The Group recognises its responsibility for safeguarding the lives and health of its own employees and those of its contractors. All of the Group’s production facilities have adopted occupational health and safety policies to further improve the system of occupational health and safety management.
In 2024, Acron Group companies focused their efforts in this area on diagnosing production equipment to ensure its safe operation, as well as the safety of feedstock and materials. In addition, the Group took measures to improve working conditions, protect the lives and health of its employees, and reduce work-related accidents, occupational diseases and hazards.
The Group takes a comprehensive approach to occupational safety, focusing on preventing incidents, containing their impact, and recovering from their effects. All its hazardous production facilities are covered by public liability insurance, and all employees are insured against accidents and occupational diseases. The number of work-related accidents and injuries among production staff decreased by 36% in 2024.
All employees must undergo initial and regular medical examinations and receive personal protective equipment. Those exposed to a hazardous working environment are provided with healthy meals. During the reporting period, Acron Group allocated RUB 346 million for this purpose.
To improve the skills of its occupational health and safety personnel and minimise accidents and injuries in the workplace, the Group provides training in safe working practices, focusing particularly on strengthening work discipline. Occupational, industrial, fire and environmental safety personnel regularly carry out comprehensive, targeted and unscheduled inspections. In 2024, 9,169 people underwent relevant training programmes.
