Acron presents solutions to boost main crop yields in Colombia

Acron Colombia S.A.S., the official representative of Acron Group in Colombia, held a series of seminars for over 300 agronomists and growers in the departments of Huila, Pereira and Risaralda.

The programme included training sessions and technical consultations on the effective and sustainable application of mineral fertilisers tailored to the different climates of various regions in Colombia, to help boost the main crop yields. Acron specialists spoke about the raw materials used to produce fertilisers, application methods and the balanced nutrient combinations for preserving soil and plant health.

During the event, Acron presented its product range supplied to Colombia, including NPK 19-9-19-1 (CaO), NPK 16-16-16-3.5 (CaO), NPK 18-6-18-2 (MgO)–2(S). These products have an optimal ratio of nitric and ammoniacal nitrogen (~50/50), ensuring stable plant nutrition at all stages of vegetation, stimulating increase in yields and protecting soil health due to neutral pH and low heavy metal content.

Acron specialists provided the results of field trials conducted in Colombia, which confirmed effectiveness of the fertilisers. According to the findings, coffee bean yield was up 10–27% and the conversion factor was 5.0. The profit of coffee production increased by 27% compared with traditional nutrient sources. Acron continues its research and development programme in Colombia on a variety of crops.

The seminars were met with great interest by the professionals from Colombia’s leading agricultural co-operatives, including Coocentral, the major coffee producer from Huila department, Codegar, Cooperativa de Caficultores de Santa Rosa de Cabal, Fedegan, Andino Agricola del Eje Cafetero, Cooperativa de Caficultores del Risaralda and others.

‘Seminars like these contribute to the ongoing dialogue about the future of sustainable agriculture where environmental care, soil health and resource management are considered to be equally important as yields and profitability’, said Anna Dorofeeva, Head of Acron’s Marketing Department.

For over a decade, Acron Group has been supplying its mineral fertilisers, customised to meet the needs of the country’s farmers, to the Colombian market. In 2025, sales of Acron-branded products began, which will further strengthen product visibility in international markets.
