The Lastochka (Swallow) recreation centre is located in a picturesque forest on the shore of Lake Rubezhnoe in Dorogobuzh district and is owned by Dorogobuzh (a member of Acron Group). This year, the centre will welcome almost 1,100 children, with 900 attending during five summer sessions and a further 182 coming for the sixth session during the autumn school break.
A voucher for children and grandchildren of Dorogobuzh and its subsidiaries’ employees, aged 6 to 17, will cost RUB 5,500. The Company will cover the remaining expenses as part of its social benefits package, which is one of the best among industrial companies in Smolensk region.
In line with its cooperation agreement with the Smolensk Regional Ministry of Social Development, Dorogobuzh has also allocated 200 vouchers for distribution among children from low-income, single-parent or otherwise disadvantaged families.
Lastochka has adopted the uniform Federal Educational Programme focused on improving children’s health and promoting ethical values. Designed for different age groups, this programme fosters social awareness and environmental consciousness, encourages respect for cultural diversity and develops personal qualities required for successful socialisation.
The Lastochka team consists of professional educators and coordinators including teachers from local schools, as well as physics, maths and languages students from Smolensk State University and from universities in Tula, Orel and Kursk.
As usual, each session has a theme. The first session, Place for Inspiration, will help children switch from academic to creative activities. The second session, Art Workshop, will focus on developing creative skills and talent. Children will be able to attend five arts classes and try their hand at singing, acting, dancing, media arts and fashion. During the third session, titled That’s a Wrap, children will explore cinema and become actors, directors, screenwriters, camera operators and film editors. This session will also mark Lastochka’s 60th anniversary with a special entertainment programme. The fourth session, Poetarium, will celebrate the anniversary of the prominent Russian poet Sergei Yesenin and the Year of National Unity.
The final summer session, billed as Sports Academy, will bring together young athletes and members of patriotic clubs. The programme will include sports tournaments, games and challenges. Children will participate in the Camp Olympics, earning their place in the Lastochka Book of Sports Records.
Lastochka has everything you need for a comfortable, exciting and safe holiday. It offers five balanced meals a day, healthcare services and an entertainment programme, including various workshops, quizzes, educational games, arts and crafts, meditation and other activities to help children discover their talents and recharge their batteries for the new school term. Dorogobuzh’s personnel participated in preparing the centre for the summer season. They planted trees, laid a lawn and organised a beach area, which was approved as safe for swimming by the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) and the local emergency services.
Built in 1966, Lastochka is undergoing large-scale renovations. In 2025, Dorogobuzh invested RUB 174 million in constructing two new residential buildings, upgrading the clubhouse, tennis court and basketball ground, and purchasing new sports equipment.
