Dorogobuzh is a leader in employer-sponsored education in Smolensk region

Dorogobuzh (a member of Acron Group) has been recognised as the top industrial company in Smolensk region and one of Russia’s leaders in terms of employer-sponsored education contracts signed during the 2024 admission campaign in secondary vocational institutions.

In the region, 836 young people have become employer-sponsored students with guaranteed jobs in the future, additional scholarships, comfortable accommodation and other benefits. Over 570 of them study in vocational colleges. Dorogobuzh sponsors 154 of them. By the end of 2024, the Company signed 202 contracts as part of the joint programme with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Education and Science of Smolensk region under an order of the region’s governor Vasily Anokhin.

Dorogobuzh has established partnerships with 16 educational institutions. The majority of employer-sponsored education contracts have been concluded with Verkhnedneprovsky Technological College, Safonovo branch of Smolensk Academy of Vocational Education, Safonovo Technological College, and Smolensk Regional Technological Academy.

The following fields of study are popular among young people: Chemical Technology of Inorganic Substances, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Heat Supply and Heat Engineering Equipment, Operation and Maintenance of Electrical and Electromechanical Equipment. Students also opt for careers as electricians, welders, instrumentation and control technicians, rolling stock maintenance and repair mechanics, and train driver's assistants.

Dorogobuzh joined this programme in 2023. In order to promote employer-sponsored education, specialists from the HR Department and the Personnel Development and Training Department held online and offline career guidance meetings with parents of applicants and students at all vocational education institutions in Smolensk region.

As employees, the graduates sponsored by the company will be provided with social support and guarantees and bonuses under Dorogobuzh’ programmes to attract young specialists.

This summer, 38 students will graduate from vocational schools and plan to join the company, while eleven of them are already combining work and study.
