Dorogobuzh boosts NPK shipping capacity

Dorogobuzh (a member of Acron Group) has commissioned the ninth loading unit for packed NPK fertiliser, increasing daily shipments of NPK in polypropylene big bags from 2,400 tonnes to 3,000 tonnes.

The capacity of the new unit is sufficient to further increase NPK production in line with the development programme.

As a result of the project, road and rail traffic flows are now separated and rail cars and trucks can be loaded simultaneously.

‘The unit has a new dosing system. Instead of rotating shutters, it uses bucket dispensers designed by specialists from Acron Engineering and Dorogobuzh’s shipping unit and manufactured by our repair and mechanical production unit. While it takes 25 seconds for the rotating shutters to load one tonne, the bucket dispensers take 11–12 seconds, doing it with greater precision, which is important for our customers’, said Pavel Simakov, Chief Engineer at Dorogobuzh.
