Dorogobuzh (a member of Acron Group) has awarded the winners of the Academic Success and Careers at Dorogobuzh contest for school teachers in Dorogobuzh district, Smolensk region.
The project aims to increase the role of chemistry and physics in the career guidance, with a focus on acquiring professions in demand at Dorogobuzh.
The competitive selection took into account the number of graduates who chose to take the Basic and Unified State Exams in chemistry and physics and exceeded the minimum score threshold in the reporting year, the average score of the Basic and Unified State Exams in chemistry and physics, the number of students who participated in and won subject competitions, as well as extracurricular activities of students in these subjects. Another criterion was the number of graduates who signed scholarship and employer-sponsored training agreements with Dorogobuzh in the last two years, and the number of graduates who were employed.
Elena Persianinova, a chemistry teacher from Verkhnedneprovsky School No. 2, was named the best chemistry teacher in Dorogobuzh district, Smolensk region, and Andrey Kartsev, a physics teacher from Verkhnedneprovsky School No. 3, was named the best physics teacher. The winners received diplomas, flowers and certificates worth RUB 400,000, which may be spent on professional development and school infrastructure.
Lyudmila Grigorieva, a chemistry teacher from Aleksino School, Lyudmila Sysoeva and Liliya Shershneva, chemistry and physics teachers from Dorogobuzh School No. 1, and Lyudmila Larina, a physics teacher from Verkhnedneprovsky School No. 2, received prizes of RUB 20,000 for their participation.
Roman Dmitriev, Executive Director of Dorogobuzh, said: ‘Dorogobuzh’s priority is to raise the prestige of the teaching profession and solve the key issues in education. Teaching is a vocation of the heart, but without specific support, few people choose it as a career. The contest helps identify successful teaching practices, improve facilities and equipment in schools, and intensify career guidance for students’.
The Academic Success and Careers at Dorogobuzh contest was first held in 2020. Over the past five years, the best teachers in Dorogobuzh district have received over RUB 4 million from the Company in recognition of their hard and important work.
