Acron Group, a Russian vertically integrated mineral fertiliser producer, took part in the Innovative Technologies for Agriculture, a workshop in Tver aimed at demonstrating new agriculture solutions, sharing experiences and discussing new trends in science and business. The event was attended by more than 15 leading regional agricultural enterprises, including Skopa, Rodina, Krasnaya Zvezda, and Chapaev.
Employees of the All-Russian Research Institute of Reclaimed Land (VNIIMZ) spoke about their cooperation with Acron and joint field trials for growing spring wheat and potatoes using Acron’s fertilisers in Tver region.
The workshop participants were particularly interested in the results of two-year research trials of Acron’s fertilisers on spring wheat.
The results showed the following increases:
- Wheat yield to 3.43 t per ha from 2.75 t per ha (24.7%)
- Protein content to 11.4% from 10.7% (6.5%)
- Gluten content to 16.4% from 18.3% (11.5%)
The trials also proved the theory that nutrients from mineral fertilisers are used up in the year of application and do not accumulate in the soil. Dynamic agrochemical analyses of the soil (before and after mineral fertiliser application, during the vegetation period and in the following year) showed no traces of mineral fertilisers, even when highly intensive methods were used. The results demonstrate that only the timely annual application of mineral fertilisers can provide farmers with high and stable crop yields.
More field trial results are available on Acron Agromarket website.
After the plenary session, the workshop continued at the demonstration plots of the VNIIMZ Gubino experimental station with the presentation of plantings of new varieties of oats and spring wheat bred by the Nemchinovka federal research center, ryegrass for seed production in the conditions of Tver region, and spring wheat and potatoes for basic research on the impact of mineral fertilisers on soil fertility. Acron’s mineral fertilisers are used on all plots of the experimental station.
