Acron Group has become a winner at the ‘Leaders of Russian Business: Dynamics, Responsibility, Sustainability 2023’ all-Russian competition organised by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE).
Calcium nitrate (CN) granulation unit at Acron production facility (Veliky Novgorod) was named one of the best import substitution projects.
Under the general design by Acron Engineering (a member of Acron Group), a 100-ktpa CN granulation unit was launched in 2022. The technology implemented helps deliver a product that meets the world’s best quality standards. The RUB 3.5 billion project has created 134 jobs for highly skilled personnel.
Now, Acron (Veliky Novgorod) is working to expand and upgrade its CN operations. This project includes the expansion of the existing unit’s capacity to 135 ktpa and the construction of the second 135-ktpa unit. Once launched, the new unit will bring the aggregate CN capacity to 270 ktpa, boosting total CN output by a factor of 2.5.
Calcium nitrate is a fertiliser widely used in agriculture. It is readily soluble in water, has a high calcium content and is free of insoluble impurities. CN is applied to various types of soil, but has proved to be most effective on sod-podzolic soils. It is also used extensively in the oil industry.
