Acron Invests Over RUB 450 Million in Social and Economic Development of Novgorod Region

The Governor of Novgorod region, Andrey Nikitin, and Acron’s top management met to discuss the social and economic development of the region and the results of the social projects implemented by the company.

Vladimir Kantor, Acron’s Vice President, noted that the company continues to implement large-scale complex projects, having invested USD 500 million in 2022, and aims to systematically support and improve the quality of life of all Novgorod residents.

Mr Nikitin emphasised that Acron has a significant impact on the overall development of the region.

‘Acron is a good partner that supports socially important projects and provides its employees with fair salaries and working conditions. I am glad that the company’s management understands the importance of social responsibility and works to improve the quality of life of our residents. We meet regularly to discuss further projects’, added Mr Nikitin.

In 2022, Acron allocated RUB 459 million, an increase of 57% over the previous year, to social projects and charitable programmes in Novgorod region, focusing on education, healthcare, and culture.

‘Our company is developing dynamically and we are investing not only in modernisation of our production facilities but also in improvement of living conditions in Veliky Novgorod. First and foremost, we try to support the most vulnerable areas. The regional government helps us to identify them. Acron actively supports the initiatives of the Governor of Novgorod region, Andrey Nikitin, and the local authorities, and will continue to fulfil its social obligations’, Mr Kantor assured.

Chairman of Acron’s Board of Directors Alexander Popov also attended the meeting.

The Governor and the company management visited several social facilities that are being developed as part of the public-private partnership, including the Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital, where five wards have been renovated with Acron’s participation. The highlight of the tour was the new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner, the only one in the region for newborn babies. Previously, MRI for babies was only available in St Petersburg. Since the beginning of 2023, 1,142 newborns from across the region have been examined in Veliky Novgorod. Pregnant women can also undergo MRI scans here in order to diagnose potential congenital malformations with high accuracy.

The delegation also visited the Leading Engineering School at Novgorod State University (NSU) and the diagnostic and treatment ward of the geriatric centre at the War Veterans Hospital. The hospital has rehabilitation equipment for early recovery of damaged CNS functions.

In 2022, the partnership between Acron and NSU reached a new level when the company became an industrial partner of the Leading Engineering School and allocated RUB 100 million to its development. As a result, students will receive practical and professional training at production facilities, including work under mentorship.
