Acron Increases Worldwide Sales of Calcium Nitrate

Acron (Veliky Novgorod) has delivered more than fifty thousand tonnes of high-quality calcium nitrate to its customers since commissioning a new state-of-the-art unit in August 2022. The Company sells its new fertiliser brand in Russia, Latin America (including Brazil and Mexico), Africa, India and Southeast Asia.

Acron’s customers have noted the product’s premium quality, good flowability and solubility, as well as its effectiveness in growing various plants and crops. The agricultural brands include water-soluble products both for open-field and greenhouse application. Calcium nitrate is supplied in 25 kg bags and in various types of big bags.

‘In August 2022, we expanded our portfolio with the top-quality premium product that is both highly effective and environmentally friendly’, commented Dmitry Khabrat, Acron’s Vice President Overseas. ‘Since the beginning of the year, the CN unit has been performing consistently and is now exceeding its design capacity. In addition, the Company has started the production of a new brand of CN containing boron, which contributes to the further expansion of the product line and sales geography’.

Calcium nitrate, or CN, is a fertiliser widely used in agriculture. It is readily soluble in water, has a high calcium content and is free of insoluble impurities. It is applied to various types of soil, but has proved to be most effective on sod-podzolic soils. It is also widely used in the oil industry.

In August 2022, Acron Group commissioned a 100,000-tpa granulated calcium nitrate production unit at its Veliky Novgorod facility. The investments totalled RUB1.5 billion. The raw material for the new fertiliser is liquid calcium nitrate, a semi-finished by-product of apatite concentrate processing at NPK operations. The Company has built a special warehouse to store the fertiliser.
