Acron Supports Inclusive Sports Festival

Acron supported a local winter inclusive sports festival Biathlon-23 that took place in Novgorod district on 10–12 February.

Acron offered sports facilities at its Aurora Recreation Camp and covered meal and accommodation expenses for the participants.

The sports festival organised at the initiative of the Novgorod district administration and Novgorod region ministry of sports brought together about 60 para-athletes from Veliky Novgorod and Novgorod, Staraya Russa, Pestovo, Malaya Vishera, Kholm, Valday, Kresttsy, Chudovo, and Borovichy districts. They competed in cross-country skiing, athletics, air rifle, table tennis and other sports.

Acron’s deputy executive director for human resources and social matters Andrey Pestov commented, ‘For many years, Acron has been running and supporting charity projects promoting healthy lifestyles, physical activity and sports, including inclusive sports, in Novgorod region. To improve social environment, we will continue to support projects helping disabled persons acquire useful skills and teaching young people team spirit’.

In 2022, Acron donated approximately RUB140 million to educational, cultural, sports and religious institutions, as well as care facilities for disabled children.
