Over 1,000 Children Visit Dorogobuzh Summer Camp in 2022

During four sessions from 5 June through 19 August, more than 1,000 children from Smolensk region attended the Lastochka summer camp owned by Dorogobuzh (a member of Acron Group). Over half of them were the children and grandchildren of employees working for Dorogobuzh and its subsidiaries.

The Company also allocated about 500 summer camp vouchers as part of cooperation with the Smolensk region’s social development department to distribute them among 180 children in difficult life circumstances and living in low-income and single-parent families and among over 300 other children from 18 districts of Smolensk region who visited the camp during the third and fourth sessions.

This summer, the programme focused on sports and brought together young athletes from the Smolensk region’s karate, sambo wrestling, volleyball, athletics and skiing clubs. It included a variety of outdoor activities, games, sports competitions, quizzes, flash mobs, quests and musical contests. Children could join arts and crafts groups and try new creative activities.

Lastochka’s director Alexander Shitikov noted that the camp team did their best to ensure that children improve their health, get exciting experience and acquire new skills.

Anastasia Gapeeva, head of the Smolensk region’s General Directorate for Youth, thanked Dorogobuzh’s management and Mr Shitikov for providing high-quality recreational services at Lastochka.

Lastochka summer camp was built in 1966. It is located in a pristine forest on the shore of Rubezhnoye Lake. According to reports, this summer, 96.8% of camp attendees improved their health, up 5.8% against the average result in the Smolensk region.
