Verkhnekamsk Potash Company Contracts for Shaft Hoisting Equipment from SIEMAG TECBERG

Verkhnekamsk Potash Company (VPC, Acron Group) and SIEMAG TECBERG GmbH signed an agreement in October 2019 in Moscow to supply shaft hoisting systems.

The companies have a long-standing partnership that started in 2014 with an assignment to develop design documentation for VPC.

SIEMAG TECBERG GmbH will supply the following equipment to the Talitsky mine: two double-drum skip hoisting units with a total design capacity of 2,400 t / h and a single-drum emergency cage hoisting unit for the 413-metre deep skip shaft No. 1; a 4-rope Ø 4.0 m ground-based Koepe hoist for the 362.5-metre deep cage shaft No. 2 (load and man hoisting) and other equipment, including skip-feeding systems, rope-handling devices for cage shaft 2, and spare parts and documentation.

The equipment will be delivered to the Talitsky mine construction site over the next two years, followed by assembly and start-up work, with commissioning expected in 2023.

SIEMAG TECBERG has already placed the orders for equipment with a long manufacture time (such as engines, frequency converters, and shafts) and is currently finalising technical documentation.

Acron Group is developing a potash deposit in Perm Krai as part of its investment programme. The project is being implemented by VPC, located in Berezniki. The aim of the investment project is the construction of a greenfield mining and processing facility with a capacity of 2 million tonnes of potassium chloride per year. It is anticipated that the facility will be commissioned in 2023 and will reach its design capacity in 2026.
