The Krasnodar-based Kubris LLC, which is part of Acron Group’s Plodorodie holding, was once again recognised as Kuban’s top rice grower by yield.
As Krasnodar Krai summed up the results of its agricultural year, top-performing growers and agricultural workers received awards on the stage of the Olymp Sports Palace. Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev presented two first-degree diplomas to representatives of Kubris LLC: to the company’s CEO for the highest average rice yield in the region (8.04 tonnes per hectare) and to Vladimir Bezus as the top-performing irrigation specialist in Krasnodar Krai (10.3 tonnes per hectare). For comparison: in 2017, the average rice yield in Russia was 6.32 tonnes per hectare. For the past eight years, Kubris LLC has led the region and the country in rice yields.
Kubris LLC also took first place in the Krasnoarmeysky district of Krasnodar Krai, where its land is located, for its winter wheat yield (7.68 tonnes per hectare). The average yield of winter wheat in the region is 6.4 tonnes per hectare. In 2017, Krasnodar Krai harvested a record yield of 14.7 million tonnes of grain.
"This excellent performance was achieved despite the severe weather conditions,” said the head of Kubris LLC, Oleg Ogorev, who was named honoured agricultural worker of Krasnodar Krai. “More than 27,000 tonnes of grain and legumes were harvested from 4,800 hectares of arable land. These results were possible due to the use of advanced agricultural technologies and modern equipment, the application of Russian selective breeding achievements and properly selected mineral nutrition based on Acron Group’s fertilisers, and, of course, due to the coordinated and responsible performance of our employees".
The Plodorodie holding was established by Acron Group in 2008 in order to implement agricultural projects. Kubris LLC specialises in the production of winter wheat, rice and soy. Its land assets total 5,000 hectares. The company has its own storage facilities with capacity for 20,000 tonnes of products.
