Acron to Increase NPK Production Capacity

Investments in NPK production units in Veliky Novgorod will exceed RUB 700 million

Acron (Veliky Novgorod) is increasing the total capacity of its NPK units to 5,000 tpd in a project expected to cost RUB 700 million and scheduled for completion in Q3 2019.

This overhaul will boost the design capacity of both NPK units 36% and push annual NPK output to 1.7 mtpa, an increase of over 450,000 t.

The overhaul project will include upgrades to the VOC-12 water-recycling system, installation of new hi-tech Solex equipment, and assembly of a product-cooling unit and four crystallizers manufactured by the in-house mechanical-repair unit. Installation of new heat exchangers on both NPK units to cool ammonia water and nitric acid will be a priority task in 2018.

Today, the two units with total capacity of 1.2 mtpa produce NPK at Acron’s Veliky Novgorod-based production facility. Acron Group also produces NPK at Dorogobuzh (Smolensk region). The Group’s total NPK capacity is currently 1.8 mtpa. Upon completion of the overhaul, Acron Group’s total NPK capacity will increase to over 2.3 mtpa.

NPK is a highly efficient fertiliser containing the main nutrients for plants: nitrogen, phosphorus and potash. This fertiliser is retained in the soil for a long time without being washed out by water. Its application simplifies the task of balancing soil nutrients and boosts yields. Complex fertilisers supply crops with essential nutrients in a form favourable for plant nutrition, assuring peak efficiency in a variety of climatic conditions.
