Acron Group recognises its social responsibility to protect the environment, ensure safe living conditions near its facilities and use natural resources sustainably. The Group’s priority is to maximise environmental safety at its production facilities and minimise human impact on the environment..
The Group’s facilities constantly work to protect water and air resources and reduce the negative impact of production waste on the environment. The Group has developed technical standards and operates its industrial environmental control system to comply with established regulations.

The Group’s environmental policy is founded on the following principles:

  • Ensuring compliance with environmental laws
  • Monitoring wastewater quality and quantity, air emissions and the operation and condition of gas-cleaning equipment and waste storage facilities
  • Elaborating and enforcing limits on waste emissions, discharge, and storage
  • Ensuring that all permits are obtained in a timely fashion
  • Monitoring environmental conditions within the sanitary protection zone surrounding facilities, neighbouring populated areas and water bodies
  • Introducing measures to reduce discharge, polluting emissions and waste generation
  • Using natural resources wisely
  • Introducing new cutting-edge equipment and technologies to mitigate the impact on the environment
  • Improving environmental safety at construction facilities commissioned at the Oleniy Ruchey and Talitsky mines and subsequently at the operating mines
  • Fulfilling the terms and conditions of licence agreements regulating environmental protection
  • Developing programmes and projects stipulated by Russian environmental regulations
  • Monitoring the environment within the Oleniy Ruchey and Talitsky license areas
  • Taking measures to repair bioresources and remedy environmental damage caused by construction of the Oleniy Ruchey mine.
