Acron Group Invests RUB 2.7 Billion in Sustainable Development in 2022

In 2022, Acron Group allocated RUB 2.7 billion to promote sustainable development. Investments in environmental programmes, occupational and industrial safety, social and charitable efforts, and social and economic development in the Group’s footprint regions were up 18% year-on-year.

He Group’s enterprises implemented environmental measures to protect air and water resources and reduce the impact of production waste. Key efforts at Acron and Dorogobuzh were aimed at stable and efficient operation of production facilities and gas treatment plants, as well as compliance with emission standards. The Oleniy Ruchey mine monitored air quality within the licence areas, watered the surfaces of waste dumps and access roads during the dry season, took dust control measures, and performed quantitative and qualitative monitoring of industrial emissions from stationary sources. To preserve and restore biodiversity in Murmansk region, NWPC environmentalists and specialists joined national environmental campaigns called Save the Forest, Water of Russia, and wastepaper BumBatl. In the reporting year, the Group’s investments in environmental efforts tripled year-on-year to RUB 437 million.

The Group’s occupational and industrial safety measures included running equipment diagnostics to ensure that equipment and process flows are operated safely and testing the safety of feedstock and materials used in operations. The Group also focused on improving working conditions, protecting employees’ life and health, reducing workplace accidents and occupational diseases, and taking preventive measures to minimise occupational risks. In 2022, Acron Group invested RUB 845 million in occupational and industrial safety measures, up 21% year-on-year.

As an attractive employer and responsible taxpayer, Acron Group significantly contributes to social and economic development in its footprint regions, improving the quality of life for employees, their families, and local residents. Each year, it renews agreements with local authorities, investing in the development of local infrastructure, healthcare, education, cultural, art, and sports facilities and implementing social and charitable programmes aimed at supporting public organisations, social institutions, and communities. In the reporting year, the Group allocated RUB 539 million to support social and economic development and charitable programmes.

In 2022, Acron Group invested a total of approximately RUB 900 million in employee social support, up almost 50% year-on-year.
