In first nine months of 2020 Acron Group shipped approximately 1 million tonnes of mineral fertilisers to domestic growers, up 50% year-on-year.
Ammonium nitrate and complex fertilisers (NPK) remained the most popular with Russian growers over the period. Sales of the highly efficient and balanced NPK 16-16-16 increased 52%, with Russian growers purchasing more than 350,000 tonnes of this fertiliser in the first nine months of 2020. This particular brand is popular with growers because it contains all the important nutrients in each granule and can be used with all types of soils and crops.
Agricultural enterprises in Russia’s central and southern federal districts remain major consumers of Acron’s products.
Chairman of Acron’s Board of Directors Alexander Popov sees a robust future for the Group’s products domestically. ‘There is strong demand for mineral fertilisers among Russian agricultural producers that continues to grow. We remain committed to supplying Russian growers with high-quality fertilisers as a priority.’
In late 2019, Acron Group signed fertiliser supply agreements for 2020 with regional agriculture departments in Penza, Bryansk, Oryol, Ryazan, Yaroslavl, Kursk, Ivanovo, Novgorod, Lipetsk, and Belgorod regions.
Agronova, Acron’s distribution network in the Russian market, was established in 2005 and comprises ten specialised agrochemical facilities that ensure direct access to products in Russia’s major agricultural regions. Agronova’s units handle transportation, sales, and storage of mineral fertilisers, with total warehouse capacity of 189,000 tonnes.
