Acron Gets New Rail Scales

Acron’s facility in Veliky Novgorod purchased rail scales for its two units, the railway workshop and the urea workshop. The scales were supplied by Measuring Equipment and Mettler-Toledo Vostok.

Valery Ponamarev, the head of Acron’s Transportation Department, expects the new scales to improve operational efficiency. “The railway workshop scales are used to record feedstock coming in and products going out. Operated remotely from over a kilometre away, the scales automatically weigh railcars in motion and scan their numbers. They are equipped with additional video cameras that improve the value of data we can gather”.

The new rail scales at the urea workshop were purchased as part of an overall upgrade to the workshop and positioned to increase the efficiency with which finished products are loaded into railcars.
