Acron’s New Ammonia-4 Unit Produces over 700,000 Tonnes of Product in a Year

A record-high daily output was reached. According to Acron’s (Veliky Novgorod) strategic development programme, daily output of ammonia at the new production facility will reach 2,500 tonnes by 2019.
On 29 July 2016, Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the inauguration of Europe’s largest ammonia unit at Acron’s production site in Veliky Novgorod.

Ammonia-4 is the largest investment project at Acron’s Veliky Novgorod site over the past several decades. Investment in the project totalled approximately USD 500 million. With Ammonia-4 in operation, the annual output of ammonia in Veliky Novgorod will reach 1.9 million tonnes. As of today, approximately 60% of ammonia produced at the new production facility is processed in-house.

Chairman of Acron’s Board of Directors Alexander Popov noted: “The launch of Ammonia-4 has boosted production across the entire facility, resulting in increased fertiliser output and an expanded product range. The modernisation at Acron’s (Veliky Novgorod) urea workshop was performed to increase product output to a total of 3,000 tonnes per day at the five units. The capacity of our NPK units has increased from 1,810 to 2,000 tonnes per day”.

Ammonia-4 is the only federal strategic investment project in the Novgorod region. It is the first post-Soviet ammonia unit built by Russian specialists without foreign manpower and based on project documentation prepared by Novgorod GIAP, a Russian design institute.
