In 2016, Acron Group invested RUB 578 million in environmental projects. The Group’s environmental policy covers air and water protection, and reduction of production waste impact on the environment.
In 2016, the Group’s chemical facilities upgraded equipment in their main shops in order to improve the environmental safety of processes and products.
In 2016, Acron (Veliky Novgorod) and Dorogobuzh (Smolensk region) repaired and rebuilt their water disposal system equipment. At NWPC (Murmansk region), construction of a treatment facility for open-pit and shaft wastewater was underway. In 2017, the Group plans to take measures to remedy any damage to aquatic biological resources. VPC (Perm Krai) received approval for the surface facilities construction project, including tailings, from the state environmental expert review board.
In the reporting period, all the Group’s facilities took measures to comply with Russian sanitary and environmental laws on handling waste generated during biological water treatment. Acron (Veliky Novgorod) developed design documentation to expand the existing landfill for household solid waste and similar industrial waste; the company also created data sheets for hazard class 1-4 waste.
In 2017, Acron will continue upgrading its operations, streamlining water utilisation schemes and improving waste treatment.
