Vladimir Ushakov Appointed CEO of North-Western Phosphorous Company

On June 18, 2013, Vladimir Ushakov was appointed as NWPC Chief Executive Officer. Vladimir Kunitsky, who previously held this position, remains CEO and Chair of the Managing Board of Acron and Dorogobuzh.

In 2013, Mr Ushakov was appointed CEO of North-Western Phosphorous Company.
 
In 2011–2013, he served as engineering director of Kazakhmys Smelting (Kazakhstan).

In 2008–2011, Mr Ushakov worked as regional manager for Xstrata Technology/Glencore Int. (Kazakhstan).

In 2007–2008, he served as CH2M HILL Project engineering manager (U.S.).

Fr om 1996 to 2007, he worked for Freeport McMoRan (U.S.) as head of the operation control centre, senior metallurgical engineer and senior production manager.

Mr Ushakov started his career in the mining sector at Norilsk Nikel, wh ere he worked in 1982–1987. In 1987-1995, he served as a research officer at the State Research Institute Gvintsvetmet.

Mr Ushakov was born in 1960. In 1982, he graduated from the Moscow State University of Environmental Engineering with a degree in engineering specialising in chemical technology. In 1994, he completed post-graduate studies and received a Ph.D. in engineering (heavy nonferrous metals) from the State Research Institute Gvintsvetmet. In 1999, Mr Ushakov received an MBA in technology management from the University of Phoenix (U.S.), and in 2002, he received a Master’s degree in information architecture from Capitol College (U.S.).
