In 2008, VPC obtained state licence to develop the Talitsky area of the Verkhnekamsk potassium-magnesium salt deposit in Perm Krai.


Talitsky Mine Key Parameters
  • Mineral resources under JORC (Measured and Indicated)* — 719.4 million tonnes // 35.56% KCl // 255.8 million tonnes KCl.  
  • Ore reserves under JORC (Proven and Probable)* — 190.7 million tonnes // 31.4% KCl // 59.9 million tonnes KCl** 
  • Mine capacity: 2 million tonnes of potassium chloride with further expansion to 2.6 million tonnes.
  • The project is being implemented with participation of Sberbank Investments.
Project Stages 

2009–2011 —Geological exploration.      

2012 — Design documentation for vertical shafts construction received a positive expert review finding as a first stage of the general project design.

2013 
  • VPC commissioned worker's camp for 250 construction workers;
  • Drilling of freezing holes for soil freezing and consequent shafts sinking was finished;
  • VPC and contractor signed a contract for shafts sinking;
  • Leveling works for construction of beneficiation factory, concrete mixer and warehouses were finished;
  • The Company commissioned administrative building.
  
2014
  • VPC completed assembly of the equipment for freezing plant and brine pipe for shafts sinking;
  • Administrative building for contractors was commissioned;
  • The Company commissioned Talitskaya-1 main step-down substation that will provide the mine site with electricity throughout construction stage.

2015
  • Assembly of cage shaft headframe metalwork completed; assembly of skip shaft metalwork is underway.
  • Construction of off-site utilities and linear structures was approved by the state expert review.
2016
  • The Company obtained the approval for the Talitsky mine’s third stage, construction of surface facilities, from Glavgosexpertiza (Main Department of the State Expertise of Russia) 
  • Subsoil licence No. ПЕМ 15349 for Talitsky area was amended to extend the licence term until 2053
  • Construction of temporary premises and structures for shaft freezing and sinking is underway 


Principal Provisions of the Licence Agreement (as amended by Addendum 1 dd October 7, 2013)
  • Deadline for reaching design capacity shall be defined by duly approved mine development engineering design.
