The Group is a leading Russian and global mineral fertiliser producer with a diversified product portfolio consisting of multi-nutrient fertilisers such as NPK and bulk blends, as well as straight nitrogen-based products such as urea, ammonium nitrate and UAN.

The Group also produces organic synthesis products, including methanol, formaldehyde and UFR, and inorganic synthesis products, such as low-density and industrial ammonium nitrate, carbon dioxide and calcium carbonate.

NPK, a mix of three primary nutrients - nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, accounted for approximately 50% of the Group’s fertiliser sales by volume. The Group  produces approximately 1% of the total output of nitrogen and phosphate fertilisers globally and 11% of such output in Russia.

Acron sells its products to more than 50 countries, primarily to fast-growing, developing markets such as Russia and China, as well as countries in Latin America, Asia and the countries of the former USSR.

In 2009, the Group’s output of ammonia and mineral fertilisers (exclusive of own use) totaled 4.3 million tonnes. The Group’s output of organic and inorganic compounds (exclusive of own use) totaled 0.8 million tonnes.

The Group has fertiliser production facilities in three locations:
• Acron, located in the Novgorod region in the northwest of Russia;
• Dorogobuzh, located in the Smolensk region in the central-western part of Russia;
• Hongri Acron, located in the Shandong province of China.

In addition to its production assets, the Group includes CJSC North-Western Phosphorous Company (which owns licenses for the development of two apatite-nepheline ore deposits, the Oleniy Ruchey and Partomchorr deposits, in the Murmansk region) and LLC Verkhnekamsk Potash Company (which owns a subsoil license to mine the Talitsky license area of the Verkhnekamsk potassium-magnesium deposit in Perm Krai).

The Group’s logistics network includes CJSC Acron-Trans (a railway freight carrier) and three sea port terminals, LLC Andrex (Kaliningrad), AS BCT (Sillamäe, Estonia) and AS DBT (Muuga, Estonia).

Through CJSC Agronova Acron has established its own distribution networks in major Russian markets, uniting regional distribution subsidiaries and specialised agrochemical facilities across major agricultural regions. The Group also has its own Chinese distribution network - Yong Sheng Feng, which includes approximately 1,160 independent wholesale distributors and over 40,000 local retailers across 29 of the country’s 34 administrative units. Agronova International Inc. and Agronova Europe AG, Acron’s trading companies which distribute its products globally, are an integral part of the Group’s marketing strategy.

The Group believes these locations provide it with a strong platform to capitalise on expected fertiliser demand growth in Russia and China, which are expected to experience some of the faster growing fertiliser consumption growth globally.

Acron  is a member of the International Fertiliser Industry Association uniting over 450 producers from 80 countries. IFA
